This course provides essential training for parents and caregivers to confidently handle common childhood emergencies. Designed for those with little or no prior medical knowledge, the course combines practical demonstrations with easy to understand guidance to ensure participants can respond effectively in urgent situations. Covering both minor injuries and life threatening emergencies, this course empowers parents with the skills and confidence to protect their children’s health and safety at home and beyond. 

Course Content

· Dealing with an unresponsive child or infant

· CPR and use of AED

· Drowning

· Recovery position

· Cardiac Arrest

· Bleeding

· Choking

· Shock

· Seizures and febrile convulsions

· Minor injuries

· Spinal injuries

· Burns and Scalds

· Head injuries

· Asthma 

· Anaphylactic Shock

· Meningitis

· Dislocations and fractures

Assessments

Delegates will be continuously assessed throughout the course, to ensure they have met the learning outcomes. Learning objectives are also reinforced through written answers.
